DB Schenker - Official Logistics Supporter of FIVB

DB Schenker, and its specialist group of DB SCHENKERsportsevents, entered into a two year agreement with the FIVB.

More than 220 national federations, and an action packed calendar of events over the next two years will see increasing demand for logistics solutions and services and DB Schenker, named the Official Logistics and Freight Forwarding Supporter of the FIVB, will provide logistics planning, freight transportation & customs clearance, distribution operations, as well as on site presence at major events for the FIVB.

DB Schenker has an extensive experience in the provision of logistics services for major international sporting events, such as Olympic and Paralympic Games (including Sochi, London, Vancouver, Beijing, Torino and Athens) World Cup Football (including Brazil, South Africa and Germany), and many World Championship and World Cup events. DB Schenker has a team in over 100 locations around the globe ready to respond and deliver to event requirements.

About World Championship Beach volleyball 2015

  • It takes place from 26th of June until the 5th of July
  • Four unique locations: The Hague, Amsterdam,  Apeldoorn and Rotterdam
  • 96 teams
  • 12 pools with four teams
  • 104 matches

Side event
During the World Championships, the people of the Netherlands were encouraged to get involved in beach volleyball with a world record attempt featuring on the official programme. Ofcourse DB Schenker Logistics Netherlands participated with a team of employees.
Three hundred beach volleyball courts were set up. The world record attempt took place on Saturday, June 27.

With a total of 2355 beachvolleyball players the new record was enough to beat the former record which was set in 2014 in Canada, where 1,610 players took part in a tournament.
