Insuring your goods can be done very easily when you register your shipment online using our eBooking tool. You can find this procedure in the attached instructions.

The benefits of SEV:

• Extensive coverage
• No extra administration
• Easy to report damage
• Fast settling of your claim
• Competitive rates

Why is it a good idea to insure your shipment?
For damage, theft and/or loss during transport, the carrier has a limited liability. A transport agreement often defines that the liability for loss or damage does not, or only partly, lie with the carrier. Furthermore, for certain types of damage, according to the transport conditions, the carrier has a limited liability and therefore limited reimbursement obligation. With the SEV you have covered this risk.

In practice:
"Transporting a shipment of consumer goods from England to the Netherlands. The truck is going through the Eurotunnel by train. Due to an unknown cause a fire starts in the tunnel and the truck, including the goods, completely burn down. The owner of the goods holds the carrier liable, but the carrier rejects all liability due to force majeure (CMR Art. 17.2). With SEV the owner would be reimbursed for the damage.”

"A truck with consumer electronics is ambushed by a group of armed fake agents. The truck driver remains behind in shock and there is no trace of the goods. The owner of the goods holds the carrier liable, but also in this case the carrier refers to CMR art. 17.2. The owner is not reimbursed. With the SEV you are assured that you will be reimbursed for the damage."
